In seventh grade, Joy discovered something really cool...Creative Writing!
Her first taste of publishing came in 7th grade when her English teacher submitted her horror story to the National Scholastic Magazine and it was published.
Published at twelve years old. Joy was hooked. She continued writing right up into college. Her English professor-- yes, also teaching creative writing -- thought her werewolf stories should be published. But being an author wasn't where her sites were set.
Joy raised three kids on her own after her husband passed away when she was thirty-three. When the children were grown and moved away, the stories came back. And lucky for her, there was a huge market for them.
Joy loves writing and paying it forward by helping new authors by answering questions and encouraging them to finish their own books. She speaks at Library Panels and loves teaching classes on Conflict and Deep Point of View.
She loves and fans and looks forward to meeting and hearing from you.
